CM to Inaugurate First Phase of Dhee Rani Program on 19th

The “Dhee Rani” program is a collective marriage initiative launched by the Punjab government to support economically disadvantaged families. It focuses on providing financial assistance and essential items to brides, ensuring they start their married life with dignity and support.
Eligibility Criteria
The program primarily targets:
- Orphaned Girls: Daughters who have lost both parents.
- Destitute Girls: Girls from families facing severe financial hardships.
- Girls with Disabilities: Girls who are physically challenged.
- Daughters of Disabled Individuals: Girls whose fathers are disabled.
Applicants must be between 18 to 40 years of age and residents of Punjab. The application can be submitted by the bride herself, her father, mother, or legal guardian. In case of a high number of applications, a computerized ballot system will be used to ensure transparency.
Application Process
Eligible individuals can apply through the official website at cmp.punjab.gov.pk or in person at the Deputy Director Social Welfare office in their respective districts. The application deadline has been extended to November 15, 2024.
Benefits for Brides
Each selected bride will receive:
- Dowry Package: Items worth Rs 206,000, including a double bed with mattress, dinner set, mirror, Holy Quran, and prayer mat.
- Financial Assistance: A cash gift of Rs 100,000, provided through an ATM card.
- Guest Arrangements: Provisions for 20 guests to attend the wedding ceremony.
First Phase Details
The inaugural phase of the program is scheduled for December 19, 2024. During this phase, weddings for 1,500 couples will be organized across Punjab. The Chief Minister will oversee the ceremonies, ensuring that each bride receives the aforementioned benefits.
